The song and the video are two sides of the same coin and share the same thoughts.
Thoughts about life in conurbations, and how much it is shaping, undermining, sometimes stifling our inner life.
I’ll Begin embodies these thoughts through a story about inner conflict derived from the relationship with the suburbs where the protagonist has grown up, making use of a recondite and almost delirious lyrics.
The ideal environment to tell this story is the controversial New York City revealed in the video of the song (edited by Buckwise themselves).
A New York City made of Manhattan’s huge sprawling buildings and degraded suburbs, made of Brooklyn Downtown and Williamsburg neighborhoods and crumbling metro stations. A megalopolis sometimes so different from itself.
A city where morphology and changing and evolving architecture influence the lives of its inhabitants. Where the size of the neighborhood can drag people in different and sometimes
conflicting worlds.

Beat serrato e incalzante, synth pulsanti e melodie caustiche, tra chitarre distorte e un banjo tagliente. I’ll begin è il primo singolo dei Buckwise.
Il brano ed il video sono due facce della stessa medaglia e condividono la stessa riflessione.
Una riflessione su quanto la vita negli agglomerati urbani vada a plasmare, ad intaccare, a volte a soffocare il nostro vissuto interiore.
I’ll begin la esplicita in una storia di conflitto con sé stessi derivato dal rapporto con la periferia urbana in cui il protagonista è cresciuto, con un testo ermetico e quasi vaneggiante.
L’ambiente ideale per raccontarla è la metropoli per eccellenza: la contradditoria New York Rivelata nel video, montato dagli stessi Buckwise.
La New York delle luci e degli enormi edifici scintillanti di Manhattan e delle periferie degradate, dei quartieri in di Brooklyn Downtown e Williamsburg e delle stazioni della metro fatiscenti. Una megalopoli così diversa da sé stessa da non riconoscersi nemmeno più.
Una città in cui la morfologia e l’architettura cangiante ed in continua evoluzione condiziona la vita dei propri abitanti. Dove la dimensione del quartiere può trascinare in mondi diversi tra loro e talvolta opposti.
